Risk Minimization of Complex Stent Implantations

New approach for stent implantation training within transparent 3D prints of vasculature models by real time 3D camera tracking of blood flow inside aneurysms.

 

CT data based 3D printed models of blood vessels and aneurysms simulate the real impact of stents being positioned and adapted by the surgeon before the final surgery. The blood particle flow will be tracked by the monocular light field camera, offering volumetric position and velocity over time with less occlusions. By this new approach the surgery can be prepared under real conditions without any risk for the patient to evaluate the optimal stent position in advance.

The light field software tools offer a deep look inside the stent to analyze the temporal blood particle trajectory and velocity (color coded).
Stent implantation can be simulated in advance to reinforce weak parts of aneurysms.
